Rebecca Chinn: Owner - Operator

Rebecca (she/her) previously worked in both preschool settings and art studios before bringing these two passions together to create Green House Studio. Originally from Scotland, Rebecca moved to Canada after graduating with a BA Honours degree in Fine Art. Her interest in creativity, education, and the ways children learn through artistic experiences led her to continue her studies at the University of Victoria, where she completed a Master of Education degree with a specialty in Art Education. She is also a certified Early Childhood Educator.

Rebecca’s approach to early childhood education is rooted in the belief that young children learn best when they feel comfortable, connected, and free to explore the world around them. She values open-ended play, creative expression, time outdoors, and providing children with opportunities to follow their own interests and ideas. At Green House Studio, she strives to create an environment that feels less like an institution and more like an extension of home—a place where children feel known, valued, and excited to spend their days.

Now a mother of three young children herself, Rebecca has an even deeper appreciation for the importance of high-quality learning environments through the early years. She has relished in the opportunity to be woven into her kid’s early learning story at Green House. Creating a welcoming and inspiring environment where curiosity, imagination, independence, and creativity can flourish, continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

Outside of the studio, her personal passions include rock climbing, kiteboarding, and skiing, and she especially loves that she can now share these interests with her children. She brings that same sense of adventure, curiosity, and appreciation for the natural world into her work with all children.

Carie Turner: Studio Manager / ECEA

Carie (she/her) was born and raised in Canada and has also had the opportunity to live in Mexico, the United States, and Australia. She has a longstanding love of the arts, nature, environmental sustainability, and working with people.

After spending a decade working in administration, Carie decided to follow her growing interest in working with children and completed her Early Childhood Educator Assistant certification in 2019. Since then, she has found a real sense of purpose in early childhood education and particularly enjoys the curiosity, imagination, and endless creativity that children bring to each day.

Carie also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications and a Master’s degree in International Business. Her varied background has given her a broad range of creative, organizational, and communication skills, which she now brings together in her role as Studio Manager at Green House Studio. She enjoys being part of a close-knit environment where she can support children, families, and educators while still being actively involved in the day-to-day life of the studio.

Anastasia Sofia Munson Rodriguez: ECE/IT/SNE

Anastasia (she/her) has worked with children in several capacities for the last decade and a half. She has worked in multiple outdoor based, early learning programs across Victoria with children as young as infancy to elementary ages. Additionally, she has worked at international levels with children across the world during cultural exchange programs. Anastasia is a strong advocate for child-led, outdoor play. She believes the outdoor classroom is the ideal learning space for children. It is in the natural world where children reveal their strength and power. Anastasia feels very fortunate to support children everyday in forming a relationship and meaningful connection to the natural environment. One of Anastasia's upcoming goals is to become an instructor for parents and families for a course on the high value of forest play. Anastasia is also a strong advocate for creating multi-dimensional, enriching, and artistic experiences for young children. She believes that these experiences foster their self-awareness, self-expression, and self-regulation abilities. Anastasia asserts that, art, for a young child, plays an essential part in their healthy, optimal development.
