REBECCA CHINN: OWNER OPERATOR

Rebecca previously taught in preschool and art studios before merging the two to create Green House Studio; a beautiful, creative, homely daycare environment for young children to learn through art & play.

Having moved from Scotland to Canada, after graduating with a B.A Honor’s degree in Fine Art, she went on to study at University of Victoria, obtaining her Master of Education Degree with a specialty in Art Education. Additionally she is a certified Early Childhood Educator (ECE).

Now with three young children of her own, she values being a part of their early educational experience and loves watching them learn, play and explore alongside their friends. She has enjoyed creating an inspiring environment and finds much joy in the opportunity to witness that magic that happens everyday while the children play.

When the opportunity arises, her other interests include climbing, kite-boarding & skiing.

Anastasia has worked with children in several capacities for the last decade. She has worked in multiple outdoor based, early learning programs across Victoria with children as young as infancy to elementary ages. Additionally, she has worked at international levels with children across the world during cultural exchange programs. Anastasia is a strong advocate for child-led, outdoor play. She believes the outdoor classroom is the ideal learning space for children. It is in the natural world where children reveal their strength and power. Anastasia feels very fortunate to support children everyday in forming a relationship and meaningful connection to the natural environment. One of Anastasia's upcoming goals is to become an instructor for parents and families for a course on the high value of forest play. Anastasia is also a strong advocate for creating multi-dimensional, enriching, and artistic experiences for young children. She believes that these experiences foster their self-awareness, self-expression, and self-regulation abilities. Anastasia asserts that, art, for a young child, plays an essential part in their healthy, optimal development.
